Our two year old BO hen is acting very strange. She has a hard time standing/walking straight, often falling off the ramp out of the coop. She no longer roosts, I dont' think she can get up there anymore. She also tosses her head around and back all the time, seeming to rub her head on her back. If there's food available she seems to eat just fine, without tossing her head, but then she starts tossing it again the second she's done eating. We have six birds and I haven't been able to catch her pooping to check it.

Any ideas? I was thinking equilibrium problem, but I've never seen this in my birds.

None of the others are showing symptoms. Also, the only physical change on her is that some of her tail feathers have been pulled out, but its hard to tell if that's different - they all look a bit ragged after the winter.

Great article. Thanks. I have some checking to do tomorrow for secondary symptoms. So far, loss of coordination and neck twisting are the only one that I've observed.
