Error while uploading images

I can upload and use pictures without trouble using Google Chrome, but I can't seem to make an avatar upload. I have followed the instructions, and the pictures seems to meet the size requirement. You would think that I was giving the computer a stupid suggestion. I am now wondering if it is a problem with Chrome or something similar .

I can't use copy and paste function anymore when on BYC via Safari. I have to use Firefox. I just get a "thud" sound when I try to copy or paste. I can type in the url address of the picture, just can't copy and paste. Only a problem on BYC I can copy and paste everywhere else. So if I want to post pics I have to open another window using Firefox. This started about three weeks ago. It is just frustrating.

For copy / paste There are 3 ways to do this. Do any of these work?

1) Right click copy then Right click past
2) CTRL+C then CTRL+V
3) Edit (top left in browser file, edit, view menu) copy then paste

I tried to upload it and got the same error. There is a problem with the file. I think it has something to do with the filename / type being different from what the file actually is. I used a photo application (irfanview) to open it and save it as a JPG and I was able to upload it without any problems.

I've emailed you the file so you can test it yourself.​

weird...i can upload the same jpgs to flickr no prob

flickr probably supports multiple file types and can probably even resolve errors in the coding of the images. Our system only supports JPG and GIF images.

We had tens and tens of thousands of JPG images uploaded and I've never run into that error before... but on very rare occasions we do hear of them and it seems to come down to problems with specific images vs. the browser, forum, or operating system.

well just for info's sake i used my phone: an LG Lotus, to take those pictures
