Escape artists?

I have three four week old Toulouse goslings and they are temporarily staying in a pin until they are all big enough to move to the pond by themselves.

Every night when I go to lock them up they are all usually in their covered dog crate, but the past two nights when I have gone out every one of them was waiting for me outside the pin. I checked, double-checked, triple-checked all the walls, corners, everything, but bothing is even close to big enough for them to squeeze through. Any advice?

I have no idea but if they are getting out something can get in. I think I'd place them somewhere more secure till you figure it out.

Could they have somehow climbed/flown out. Last year I had a 6 week old pullet climb a dog kennel fence. I'll try to explain how she did it. She flapped her little wings and then climbed the fence with her feet while flapping her wings. I had to cover the dog kennel with a tarp. I hope that made sense. I know geese are different than chickens but that was just a suggestion.

The geese are four weeks old and have only a few feathers on the top of their wings and since their feet are webbed they can't grab fencing like chickens can.
