I emailed one of the Farm to Table restaurants near me, she actually forwarded my message to her farmers. Another viable option for others who are in my situation. Now I wait..

Let's wait to see if they take you up on it before claiming viability.
I can't imagine they would want layer breeds for meat....

I agree, not meat. But a true farm to table has their own hens for eggs..my hope is that he is young enough to get in with a young group of hens for their egg laying needs.

The problem is that you don't need a rooster for egg laying, I imagine that they likely have sex link hens so they aren't feeding roosters that aren't providing any value.

I takeimine to a auction sale.thry have them for live stock.thry sell everything from roosters , eggs

When I have birds that I need to "get rid of", there are several families in my area who can really use the meat. I'd check local homeless shelters if they could use the chicken or leave a post it on the board at your local FIA letting people know you have a bird.

You can look these up in thephone book.the feed store should know we're the Sale barns are.

We have to take chickens in a box with holes,or a cage.ours is every Monday morning

Unfortunately I am in similar shape. Out of hatching about 16 of my own eggs I got 11 roosters. Which is unfortunately pretty common. I currently have a rooster bachelor pad but will soon be taking the step to terminate them as I already have my preferred roosters. Too bad, some are very pretty and not aggressive towards me at least yet. I am NOT looking forward to that.

Are you part of any FB chicken groups? I've been able to rehome many cockerels this way.
