I know that there are people who do things like ship sick birds, birds that are not what the buyer paid for, ect. These people are intentionally unethical if you ask me.
I also know a woman close to me that has started a family chicken farm, and doesn't have her breeds straight. She is getting better, but I see that she will list the colors or breeds wrong in her ads. She doesn't mean to do this, she just doesn't know. It may not have even occurred to her that there are people who take chickens very seriously. But I know her (which makes a huge difference in deciding who is ethical or not), and she doesn't try to come across as knowing everything-picks my brain whenever she can.
And for instance what if bought some hatching eggs from someone who tossed them (unwrapped) in a box with peanuts and nothing else? Andy when I addressed the issue they ranted and raved saying I was the problem and no adjustment would be made? These are the people we have to look out for. It is wrong to advertise that you are for example, an APA judge or someone who is a top competitor in shows, and not care how you ship eggs.
We all have to learn from mistakes and if we keep doing the things that are "unethical", there in lies the problem.
