Euthanizing Methods - Anyone try Rapid Cardiac Compression?

Nov 26, 2021
Long time lurker here.
I've gathered a few ways to humanely end the life of a Wyndotte with Marek's. Limping is getting worse :(

Years ago as a tween my older "hunting" relative showed me how to kill a small bird using some pinch like method under the wing. At the time, the Morning Dove he found (who looked like it was on her way out) was calm as he showed me the spot to "push" in. He did so for about a 10 second count, and the bird simply went limp. No struggle, no blood, no bone snapping.

This seems humane enough and is used by in-field ornithologists who encounter sick / injured birds.
Has anyone tried this on a chicken?
