I read some where it is best to have an odd number of roosters. Is this true? I have 20 RIR hens and 2 RIR roosters. My flock is 5 months old so far every one gets along fine.

I know some one who has a RIR rooster and 2 RIR hens (5months old) and they are looking for a home for them. What would my flock do if I added them to it? Should I just add the hens, can I add the rooster too, or add none of them to my flock?

First chickens dont know how to count, so I dont htink even/odd would matter [IMG]

How old are the other Chickens? If they are close to same age/size as yours, quarintine, then gradually introduce them and they will establish a spot in the pecking order. Dont just throw them together, introduce them through a fence for at least a couple of days.

use the search for threads for more details about introducing/joining flocks
