Ever a "cute" predator story?

I live across from a small park, there is a street light and a fox family of 3 lives nearby. I have been watching them every night for a week, taking all the precautions to keep my girls safe.

Last night while watching the park area, I see one of the foxes as he is just playing and having the time of his life, jumping at fireflies and I had to laugh. For just a moment I let go my anger, my worry and just smiled watching this creature play like a little kid.

Then I went right back to reality, checked my coop and run and went to bed.

I had a fox after a a mouse or rat I think in front of our house. It was cute but I have also lost birds to some fox and they aren't cute anymore.

I used to like watching the occasional hawk that would hang out it on our yard. Now I spend an embarrassing amount of time dreaming up, researching & enacting ways to make my yard as inhospitable as possible to them, lol.
