I have already let this rant fly too! But the strange thing is, she was an older lady. Not old like as in senile, but she had to be in her sixties. If she was younger I would have understood better. She just kept telling me "this is what my register says". That is why I kept asking her "Do you hear what you are saying??" Do you know how close I came to throwing her

register out the front door???

Makes you wonder if her register told her it was only $1.99 ... would she have just said "Thank you .. and let you walk out the door??"

I really think she would have. I tried to be patient for the longest time until I realized it didn't even occur to her that the amount was outrageous, even when we went over it. And over it. Okay, well, maybe she was more senile than I give her credit for!

Women like that are the sole reason I don't join any committees or clubs. You can tell me to cook or bake anything you want and where to drop it off and I will do that. But don't have a meeting and pretend like you give a mouses rear end about my opinions because we all know that you know best and are really just going to tell me what to do and when anyway!!

So, the first dig of the new little garden patch is done. (About 100 square feet. It'll be made longer later & will eventually reach 200 square feet. Then 3 more need dug...)

I'm now working on redigging it so that I can double dig (two forkfuls deep) and incorporate some organic matter. I'll keep plugging away at it 10-15 minutes at a time until either my back gives out or its done or the ground freezes. Trying to get my raw wood chips from poultry bedding dug into it. They'll decompose enough a layer down by spring that they'll be okay. Then, the composted stuff can get added on top and dug in one last time. That should really make it a usable garden area. I'm afraid it's going to take me 2-3 years though to get all the garden space I want prepared!

That was pretty much it. Except I also had 2 bottles of Gold Peak Tea and a 44 oz iced tea. Apparently the word gold in the Gold Peak is a serious matter! I tried to tell the lady that it didn't sound right and did she ring up the coupons for the 2 free ones? Yes she did and that is what her register told her. The first time it was $48 something and when she did it a second time it came up to $50+! Again, I tell her it doesn't sound right. So, she talks to me like I am a 2 year old. "The bacon cheeseburger one is $15.99" "Yeah, I got that" "The ckn bacon ranch is $15.99" "Yes, I got that too." "You get the other 2 free with your coupon" "Right, I am still with you, but you are telling me that 3 teas is $20?????? Listen to yourself Lady, does that sound right????"

This went on for way too long and the line was backed up all the way around the store by the time I finally got out of there. That trip 2 blocks away took us 45 minutes!!!

Did you finally win the fight? That better have been darn good pizza!!
