It is always bittersweet when rehoming animals. I need to do that myself to several cats/kittens, but we get so darned attached to them! The little black quadruplets are so stinkin adorable right now! They are getting friendlier and Destiny has completely tamed the long haired one. It didn't have a choice. She just kept picking it up and making it like her! The rest must have decided that they would calm down too. The little lone yellow one is as lovable as they come after being so wild when she first brought him up to the house. The momma still won't let us near her, but he loves to be held and they have adopted the little ones as their own since their mom has decided they are plenty big enough to take care of themselves.

Actually, I forgot to tell you guys about the duck eggs. Went home one day last week and one had exploded in the bator. After debate on what to do, we decided to abort the bator over opening it up in the house and smelling it forever. So, we just disposed of all the eggs. We will try again in the spring.

Then we have come home the last few days with one of our ducks missing. Well, not really, she is hanging out in the duck house. She is freaking broody!!

It will be the beginning of December before those babes will hatch! Is she nuts???? I guess this unusually warm weather lately has really thrown her off.

noooooo-you threw them all away! ahhhh

well I guess with a nasty exploided egg I would have done the same smelly thing!

We thought about it and decided it was for the best. They had been neglected anyway, so I wasn't convinced any would hatch. I have no idea how many (dang, I can never remember that duck's name) is sitting on. I am afraid to even know! She is right inside the door and will poke her head out to chat and keep right on with her mission. So, there is hope for Christmas ducks anyway.

I have no idea. I haven't watched that closely. It took me a few days to realize what she was doing until she peeked out to quack at me the other day. I haven't even thought of the possibility this time of year. That and her being so young.

haha get out the house brooder--string it with Xmas lights and egg nog for a pond I cant wait to see pictures of ALL the babies!!! Ship them to me I dare you!
