Yep, the rabbit books say up to 10 years, sometimes more. Plus, they say bigger bunnies live longer than dwarfs, and he's no dwarf! He's almost as big as a couple of my cats.

Argh, yes. I got to "enjoy" the full moon when Lucy woke me up in the wee hours (3:30 or some such) to go outside...

We had bunny temporarily set up in the sunroom. However, that meant keeping the dog out COMPLETELY and only allowing the cats in with supervision (and only while bunny was his cage -- one of my kitties had an outdoor brother who hunted rabbits for snacks. My kitty is just as big and strong, though lacking front claws.)

Bunny has just been moved to the basement. He now has a room sized area rug, a short fence around the entire rug (attached to his cage) so that I can let him out for supervised exercise time and not have him hopping all over the basement, and a radio for company. He's hiding in his corner, though. He's more scared of a coturnix roo than of the cats!

my favorite sight was sitting outside and looking to my left and seeing the sun setting over the pastures and then looking to my right and seeing the moon rise over the tree line. with my dogs and cats chasing each other around, glass of wine in hand, and it was only 70 degrees.

Rabbit is a bit angry / scared right now about his move to the basement. He liked the sunroom. Took him two minutes to adjust. However, he thinks the basement is scary. It probably is with a couple of coturnix roos not a yard away, ROFL. Plus, you can here the dog thumping around upstairs...but can't see her.
