oH .... lol ... I thought.. well, nevermind!

*duh!*

Michelle,

Can you verify Elizabeth's number for me by PM or by text? I can call her -- just checked the rates with Verizon -- just to see if they are okay. I am not 100% certain that I have all the digits of the phone number.

If you could text her last name to me, too, then I won't sound like a fool if I get asked.

Yes.

I'm dialing 011-61 (Australia's code)-the number she posted online (which is 10 digits). I get a message that the number I dialed is a non-working number. It may be a landline that is down from the weather, or even cell phone lines that aren't working.

If anyone else has any idea of how to dial this correctly, just let me know, ROFL. It's only $3.99 a month to have an international plan with Verizon, which means that instead of $2 a minute it costs me 7 cents a minute for a call to someplace like Australia (landline) or 20 cents for a cell. No big deal

Ah, I think I got through. Got a recording, though. I dropped the 0 from the first of what she posted, thinking it might be an extra number I didn't need. The recording did have an Aussie accent.

I'll try again later tonight. It's 9 AM there so will try around their lunch time.

Roz...text me if you get through to her. I'd like to know if she is ok. I'm going home now. See ya'll tomorrow!

I just talked to Elizabeth. She called me back.

They are safe, and housing refugees in their home. They are okay on food and supplies. Currently, she's out trying to check on her friend that they are worried about and helping others out, as well. Her friend's house is completely underwater, but neighbors saw them last night and said they had a boat of some sort.

The worst of the water levels hit there about 3 hours ago. It's pretty much a mess there, as we all expected. She and I will be in touch again.

She probably won't be online for a bit. I think she said at the last that the Internet was down, but the call was breaking up a bit at that point on the cell.
