Not this one. We have a radio station team that competes in the Children's Advocacy Center Trivia night. That will be next month! Thanks for reminding me, we need to get cracking!!

okay so Des what is the difference between a cow and a heifer?

DH and I went out to a local bar last night. Got to see some friends and enjoy some music. got home about 12:30, and there is a hen running around the yard. I get the spot light and guide her back to her roost, check and do not see anything. Go inside, get in bed and not 10 minutes later, I hear the flock going crazy. put on my robe and boots, yell at DH that something is after the chickens. I grab the light and run outside. Put the spot light on their roost and there he was -- a possum. I am yelling at DH that I have him spotted and to hurry up. I wait, wait some more and finally DH comes out the door, half pie eyed, aims, shoots, and bam he landed it. Possum falls from the tree, and just for good measure he shoots again. Walks back inside and gets in bed. I try to find all the hens, the rooster ran for the garage, I could only locate 4 out of 6. Woke up this morning to rooster crowing and 6 lovely hens by his side.

Morning sunshines...

Today is "Pay 5.00 and get to wear jeans" day ..

It just felt worth it to me .. so I'm in my jeans(starched), wrangler purple/pink plaid snap front shirt, new twisted x boots .. and my cow tag earings.. hehe.

LOL I get excited when I see a PM notification...
however my last one was from a guy (I hope lol) who said we had chicks around the same age and he thought I was pretty hot...

I have a dang-near predator proof coop ... and I still lay in bed EVERY morning and wait to hear Shiner crow..

Last nite was a nightmare.. I was a little late getting out to put the chickens up .. it was right at dark. When I walked up the hill, I noticed that the wind had blown the coop door shut .. uh oh.

Everybody was trying to go to roost in various places..

I had banties trapped in the big coop, I had LF hens roosting on top of the chain link, I had babies roosting on the coop window sills ...

When i got them all in the coop, I had to stand there with the flashlight so they could see how to get to their roosts ...

i was being cussed out in "chicken" the whole time..

(I have fashioned a wire to hold the door OPEN in the future..)

Man, chickens get their panties all in a wad when you mess with their routine ..
