I have given aspirin before also. I just want to check. When our old Boston Terrier got old and started hurting she ordered her some glucosamine (?). It was inexpensive and seemed to help him. I just want to have him checked over good and see what she thinks about it. I cannot put him on the table to be examined, but I have told them that. Destiny also said "Did you tell them that not only can we not put him on the table, but she may have to see him in the van?"

That girl has been on a roll lately! We were at our work Christmas party last night and I was talking to my dear friend who has retired and told her that Destiny has definitely turned into her mother's daughter!!

Speaking of party, my cheese dip and oreo balls were a hit! Thanks girls!! Everyone was asking for the recipes.

It was a nice party, but I would have rather been having a margarita with NY!

Today is early out for Christmas vacation at school. I called and told them Colton is sick. He and Luke say they are going to cut wood, but when I talked to them before I left this morning they sure were grinning a lot. I don't know what those two are up to, but they better not get into trouble!!

Good morning all! Laundry day for me too. First load is in. Hubby is home so I am getting a slow start. It is 16 degrees so far. Michelle I hope you you get a pretty white Christmas. We have left over snow but I could go for a light fresh "skiff"

I need to find the ambition to go out to the coop. We arent sure why but all of the shavings got wet. It wasn't the waterer, its like a condensation problem. This didn't happen last year but it is really bad. We just cleaned out the coop a month or so ago but the shavings are soaked so now it smells really bad and it is cold enough in there that they are just solid. I don't want sick birds so I am going out to shovel it out and put in fresh dry ones. Hopefully it was just because of a drastic temp change and it won't happen again. Hubby thinks maybe moisture came up through the floor. We will put linoleum down in the spring. Any body else have any ideas?

Oh homemade Pizza and Margaritas or maybe Belgian white for supper. You gals coming over?

I am there for pizza and drinks! Sounds really good!

I haven't ever had that problem in the coop except when we holed up the ducks last year when it got super cold. Of course, they played in their water to get it that way. We don't get the constant cold temps and snow like you do, so that may be the difference. Scooping the coop in freezing temps does not sound like a whole lot of fun at all!

Our coop smells too! Maybe it is moisture Im not sure but I bought 4 huge bags of pine shavings yesterday and filled my coops up with it-then mixed in alot of DE. I hate not being to hose things down. I can start smelling amonia too so I thought the air ciculation is bad but I cant see how since it does have air flow-today when I get home Ill add more shavings I tell you I dont like this deep little method-bleah! Did I hear road trip for Pizza and margos??? dang why cant you guys live closer???

Good Morning! It is really raining here today. We are supposed to get 1-2 inches before it turns to snow tomorrow afternoon/evening. Then we are under a winter weather advisory through Friday. I may just postpone Thunder's appointment. It is so icky out there and he is mad at me this morning anyway.

How was the pizza? I took Des to get her hair colored and we decided to do mine too, so by the time I got out of there, got the Christmas pics picked up, went to the store, got everything taken care of it was late. I knocked on charmed's door, but she must have already been asleep.

I hated to head out of state without here. Besides, NY didn't get here either. Sorry chickenchick, I tried!

Well I shoveled out the coop and we think we found the problem. The floor was wet under there. Hubby did some research online and the conclusion he came to was he forgot to put any kind of a moisture barrier in the floor. Did any of you do that? So guess what our spring project will be

Oh well my chickens are worth it! Did I tell you they are finally starting to lay!!!!!!!

I actuallly got 8 a couple days ago and 5 yesterday. I am just thrilled, it is about darn time!!
