We will buy seed potatoes, onions and tomato plants locally. We planted horseradish last year and are crossing our fingers that it comes up

Sevedo has already started tilling out garden. He worked all day yesterday getting the side of the hill, where we put our garden, ready to plant alfalfa. He thinks the deer like to eat that and if they eat that then they will stay out of our garden. We will see...
Last year we planted purple hull peas, okra, and cucumbers in my garden and watermelon, tomatoes, cantalope, jalapenos, tomatillos, corn(coons got it all), onions, garlic, and zucinni squash in Sevedo's garden.
This year there will be no okra at all. I got so sick of that junk last year!

Oh btw, Isaac fell asleep in the floor behind my chair. He never does that normally. I was sittin here talking to my mother on the phone and noticed he was quite and he was all sprawled out fast asleep lol. I had tried to put him down for a nap a little while ago but he wasn't having any of that. Sleep got him anyway.

Thats just doesn't seem fair! Last year Raymond had 3 snow days but this year there have none so far. Of course last year it wasn't until April. We were snowed in out here for 2 or 3 days. I am so glad you survived the CH. In my home town going to the CH was like going to the Dentist! It was horrible! They never had their crap together and everyone you dealt with did it differently. It almost always took 2 or 3 trips to get everything done right. Here in Conrad I almost enjoy the CH, except of course for the BIG checks I always have to write while I am there! The Gal behind the counter is always happy and helpful. I have never heard of "beyond local" tags before. Heck I had never heard them called tags until I dated a creep from Oklahoma.

So when are you driving that fun , freshly tagged truck this way?

Algo I am jealous that yours is already tilled. We stared at ours from the window yesterday! It was exciting to get the seeds ordered. I used to just buy local seeds, you know the 5 packs for a dollar! Well I got tired of putting all of that effort in to it and having a third or less of it come up. So I order from Burpee. The shipping is almost $9

I mean, come on. Seeds are not that heavy

I wish we could grow watermelon and things like that here. Do you have good luck with your Cucumbers. I have planted them the past 3 years and nevr even had them come up! I will try them one more year, if it doesn't work, I am done

I am taking off at noon today. Just because. Of course after the beautiful week we have had, we are now dealing with severe thunderstorms right now, so I might not get out of here on time anyway.

ETA: Charmed--Did you get blown away by these hurricane force winds they are saying that are moving our way?

It got dark and rained a bit. DD called me from Platte City and said they had it bad. The wind blew their trampoline up in a tree and there is sheet metal laying all around. They were going to go around and survey the damage. It sounded like a microburst to me. Who knows. Anyway, it's calm here now so maybe the worst is over.

I believe it, we have gotten all kinds of reports from the National Weather Service about semis blown over, power lines down and all the good stuff in that area!

We are under a warning right now. We have had a wind gust of almost 50 mph and rain has flooded in under my door. It was pretty wicked for a while, but now just heavy rains. Colton was heading home from school (no vo-tech today) and I don't think he made it before it hit.

Poor Des happened to be on the board when it all came up, so she has had a super hectic day! She has one more hour to go before the other board op comes in and then hopefully we can head home then.

I just got back from town. I hope you (Michelle and Charmed) are safe. It sounds like you are in for some weather. Michelle I hope you got to go home early.

I got my errands ran and just as I was to leave town Kenny called and said he would be through town in an hour. If I wanted to hang around town for another hour he would buy me lunch at the local Drive Inn! Well I turned right around and wasted time until he could get there. (Charmed, hmmm

)
