Would you let me off the hook if I told you I was distracted? Start out by having Colton and his buddy Luke come into my office around 11 asking "do you need a parent at our age to get an x-ray??" I freaked out. It was Luke. The whole top of his hand is swollen like a puffer fish and he can barely move it. So I had to get him a doctor's appointment and hoped his step-mom could come take him. (they wouldn't let me and Luke is not known for having good parental guidance). Take the boys for lunch, sirens going everywhere. Thank goodness they are with me, but who could it be? Find out it is 4 boys in their class. 2 were racing the other 2, passed on a hill, pulled back in when they saw truck coming, lost control, hit truck coming, rolled and it caught fire. Apparently Trevor was life flighted from the scene and Dustin was sent out later. The other 2 boys didn't get caught up in the wreck and the man they hit I think is okay.

So, take a deep breath, you take the couch, I will take the love seat, we will watch Reba, play with Thunder and maybe NY will bring us some of her magical brew so we can relax for a bit!

Good Morning!

I think the boys are going to be okay. One has a broken leg and the other is pretty bumped and bruised up. (thought he had head trauma, but didn't) The older gentleman has a broken ankle. Could have been a lot worse. When Des was that age, she lost a classmate to stupidness. It not only killed him, severely injured his best friend and killed a set of young parents and their little girl. Then her senior year, right before graduation, she lost another classmate to ice on the roads and it banged up another girl pretty badly. Somewhere in between was another accident (involving alcohol like the first one) and temporarily paralyzed another girl in her class. Not to mention the girl who battled cancer in high school and the boy killed on the ATV in 8th grade. And we have a relatively small school. We parents were never so glad to have that class graduate!!

On a lighter note, Charmed, are you getting rain this morning? According to a KC station, our area is projected to get almost 3 inches between today and tonight. Looks like it could start at any time here and we definitely don't need it right now.

I did go home and relax. Hubby grilled pork chops, I did a few things around the house and then sat down enjoyed some tv with Thunder on my lap and topped off the night by making caramel milk shakes!

Michelle I am so happy to read that everyone is going to be all right. This is such a scary age (teens!) for me. DS has been riding with FB buddies for practise and I have to say it makes me nervous. They are only going a few blocks but still! Accidents happen so fast!

NY you had a good idea about "thread hopping"

! I did post on a few, but I can't remember if it was 5 or not! I plan on venturing out a little today too.

DS has his first boy/girl party today!

It starts at 1 this afternoon and goes until midnight! It is at his GF house. (The Mom I was telling you I met.) So I know there will be supervision, but it all means he is growing up, I am getting older and so on and so on.....

Oh AND he registers for HS today! To top it off I get to drop him off with the 2 girls he is going to go register with because its not cool for your Mom to go with you!!

Good morning, my friends! I'm still a little tramatized

from yesterday but no worse for the wear.
Michelle, it rained here this AM but not a gully-washer where I am. It's suppose to be wet til after tomorrow I think. I have been skipping the news lately. Glad the boys are Ok.
CHICKENCHICK! Worried about you yesterday and looked for you while I was lost in threadland but didn't see you. Hope thread hopping was good for you! Missed you here! Kids grow up fast, don't they. Be glad you have a son. When my girls were little, we used to say "When you have a son, you worry about him. When you have a daughter, you have to worry about everyone's son!" All you can do is raise them the best you can and let go. ( It's the letting go part that's hard!)
NY..I heard the top pop off of that Yueling clear over here in Missouri! No fair teasing us like that!!

Been a busy day, sorry I didn't get back sooner!

Chickenchick: It is hard to see them grow up, isn't it? We have 2 more years of high school left and I don't know where the time flies! Let us know how you survived the girl/boy party.

Sonew: We haven't heard from you today, it would serve you right if you got a hangover from teasing us with you magical brew!!

I haven't heard an update on the crash victims yet today. I do know nothing is life threatening, so that is good news. Colton's friend Luke who went for the x-ray yesterday came in today with his arm in a sling. He said "it is only fractured" I was like "do you know that is a break?" "no". Geesh!

Im here..ahhh day from he double hockey sticks at work again bleah bleah bleah on that note. Hand championship softball games tonight and we lost:-( then right after the game-instead of celebrating our win I went to my church group lifegroup meeting to meet up with DH and girls. Got home an hour later than normal and all my babies were in the dark. My poor duck was in his pen all scared...thank goodness nothing got to them-we are always home to put them to bed before dark and the creepy crawlees slime out of their caverns!

Michelle Im so glad to hear all the kids are going to be ok despite their injuries...and I can't wait to hear about more finishing of the home project

chickenchick-your in the same boat I am DD will be a freshman this year and has her frist bf but I am hoping it doesnt last- she has already told me he annoys her He is a sweet boy and very polite when hes not hyped up because of being off his meds for ADHD-wooo boy can you say

I had a really busy day yesterday too and today might be the same. I have slowly started moving my clothes into my closet, so that is a start! I spent forever sweeping the floor from all the dust and hubby came in last night and sanded some more! Hopefully that will be all done soon! With football starting, our time will only be shorter to work on it.
