I went from a Taurus wagon to a van - better biz car to fit dogs - but I LOVED my wagon. Would have gotten another one if they hadn't changed the body style so you couldn't get 2 dog crates in side by side.

Anyway, I put 217,000 miles on that wagon. With dogs. So it looked like it had the mileage. When we bought the van the salesman said he didn't want the wagon my God take it away. I laughed. We had to donate it to the Kidney Foundation. It ran perfectly, but the interior was basically falling apart. When the tow truck came to pick it up for the Foudation the driver asked what the mileage was and I told him, he asked again, I told him, he went to check himself, then wrote down on the form "operated beyond mechanical limits".

I have over 100,000 on the van, and it is doing really well. Better than I thought it would. But when I get a new car I think I'll go with an SUV. Loaded vans just can't do dirt roads well.

He just took me by surprise. Most everyone else knows me there and was waving at me. I used to mess with the new ones when hubby worked there and they didn't know any better, but I am very proud of my truck and he hit me wrong. I took a look at the new truck as I drove off, it isn't anything that much more special than mine, except it was missing some scratches on it!

I have nearly 261,000 miles on my Isuzu Rodeo, and I am mean to that thing. I haul grain, hay, dogs, goats, and even used the back to haul my peafowl home. I love it! Do wish I had a pick up though...

LOL, that is one thing, the AC in mine is DEAD! LOL, nobody is spoiled in that thing. Funny thing is, the kids are harder on it than anything else. Seriously, how much of that snack can miss their mouths? I keep waiting for a mouse to run out of the rig doing victory labs because it is pretty sure it found the gates to the goody paradise.

Well, that's a good point. The AC in the Taurus had been dead for 4 years before we gave it away. We had it 7 years. I don't think I could take Houston heat & humidity in a car anymore without AC. If the AC in the van ever croaks it is gonna hafta be fixed regardless of cost! Either that or it is time for another car!

I had a van before the truck, it has over 200,000 miles and is still licensed, just has a small transmission problem that comes and goes. We are going to use it to travel to football games this fall. We bought my 2000 Ford Ranger from a rural mail carrier who was selling it for parts for, I think $300 or $400. Hubby went and dug it out of an old barn in February, brought it home, cleaned it up, gave it a tune up, put on new tires and I have been driving it like crazy since. It has 285,700+ miles on it at the moment, but runs like a gem with less than $1000 in it. I am married to a mechanic, we don't ever buy anything new. Thunder has his own seat in the back along with his own special pillow to sit on that my mom got for him. I drove a mommy van for years and loved it, but now that the kids are older, I was ready for my truck!!
