I missed that one somewhere! Paged back a few pages but didn't see it.

(Then again, short time this morning so I was hurrying.) I'm keeping a watch at the thrift stores for the smaller solid sided plastic dog carriers. The cat sized ones are too small. Heck, one of my cats won't even fit in them. I'm looking for the next couple of sizes up but not the monstrous things that hold German Shepherds! My poor bird room isn't going to have room for many more until I buy another set of shelves to slide them onto.

Football, of course!

It is senior night and Destiny and I have to get to the stadium early to help hang the banners. Other than that, lunch at the park since it is probably our last nice day for a while.

I still haven't worked a bit on my novel planning. Maybe I can sneak some of that in here at work today!

Football! To be honest, I'm more of a baseball fan.

I went to a Royals game this summer and in the spring I had a cousin that played for his high school that I watched, but I really don't get into it that much. I used to really follow, but I just don't enjoy it as much. Not opposed to baseball at all though. Of course having the nearest MLB team that is crappy doesn't help the sport much!

UGH. I hate going to the doctor to be told that. It ends up with me not going to the doctor at all, even when I should.

Hello everyone. Finally up and moving around.

Got 3/4 of the bird cages cleaned out and the bedding changed yesterday. I need to go to the farm store for another bag of bedding before I can do the other big cage. I still have 4 of the smaller cages to do, too. I'll do those four sometime this weekend, probably. I was switching bedding types so had to do complete cleanouts. Sure made their cages smell better! I'm in the process of switching from pine chips to pine pellet horse bedding for most of them. It seems to absorb odor better and it lasts longer. I'm also hoping it will be less expensive in the long run. (It's MORE expensive in the short run!)

I moved the young coturnix up into their permanent pen last night, too. As they mature enough to see who is male, I'll have to remove the extra males from the pen. I'm "really" hoping for 3 females out of the five. If I don't have 3, I'll need to hatch out some more babies. I'm going to send quaillady and order when I do and get some different DNA. (That's actually why there isn't another batch going now.) You should see them -- they are some seriously HAPPY quail babies. 5 three week old quail in 16 square foot. Yup, they have some good space for living in there. They went from paper toweling / disposable bottoms in their cage to wood chips (using up the ones that were already in that cage). They fluffed themselves into them and have made it clear they are happy.

I did give them some supplemental heat though last night. I was worried about them going from 70 degrees in the basement to the cooler garage so I set up a space heater a yard away to gently blow some warmer air their way.

Today's after work plan - need to grade some tests and then...more housework. Joy. I am also thinking it'll be cool enough to light a fire tonight! It was last night but I was busy working on other things until late. I have a bit of yard work that needs to be done yet before cold weather sets in. The pool is coming along. I drained most of the last bit of water yesterday. I need to pump the filter well tonight, then have my son start scooping out the remaining algae from the bottom of the pool (ew!) so that we can scrub it down in the deep end. I already did the rest. I am NOT PUTTING ANY WATER in it next year I don't think, lol. At least it's done before the leaves fall off the neighbors trees. So, it'll be easy to get the leaves out. Last year was a nightmare!

Yeah... The Albuquerque Isotopes aren't good. At all.

Morning Rozzie!

Nope, don't have a pool cover! We'll just have to pump that right back out.

Interesting hour...

I was in the shower and my son says "There are people on our ROOF!" What the heck? After that strange chimney crew, I figured they were back and up to no good. Told him to get the police on our way and hurried to throw on some clothes.

They were supposed to be next door, ROFL.

Turned out badly though. They said we have hail damage to the roof. DARNIT!!!! Should have had it checked earlier this summer. There are also soft spots in the roof decking. They figure I don't have more than two years before it starts leaking...

Why? Is this something I should know? I know mac and cheese. Big mac. Mac computer. Even Mac Davis. JMac eludes me.

I am sure she will be along shortly to explain it to you. Right now I hear she is rewarding herself for getting her work done early by enjoying a mixed berry smoothie in the front office.
