Ever feel lonely when you dont have any PM's waiting for you?

Good Morning Everyone! I just got out of a sales meeting. On today's agenda is to plan a float/entry for our fair parade to promote our state Colgate Country Showdown and the station of course. I have access to the station van and could do a truck/trailer thing, but my creative mind has left me. Any ideas?

I went to a Pampered Chef party last night and got to check on Zee. I think she is adapting well at my sister's house, but I sure do really miss her!

Sad news on our kitten front.

I came home yesterday to Colton telling me Mama moved her kitten again. I said don't you mean kittens? No, kitten, SHE killed the remaining black one.

Only the yellow one is left! I was so

! Geesh, that really blew my mind! So, I took it away and tried to dropper feed it. He did good the first feeding, but last night and this morning wouldn't eat. I made the heart wrenching decision to let her have him back. He is still too young for me to try to take care of him myself and I am going crazy today worrying about him!

She kept wanting to see him, so I supervised her last night and this morning and she seemed to be okay with him, but I don't know. It was probably the wrong decision, but I didn't know what to do.

That is what I was thinking and kept her way last night, but since I am at work all day, I let her have him back.

He wouldn't eat much for me and I didn't want him to starve. Maybe Colton will go home in a little bit and check on them. I don't know what her problem is, she has raised many babies and never done anything like this. My Mom said maybe it was sick and she was putting them out of their misery, but I would think there would be a more humane way for her to do it.

How strange, I wonder why she killed her baby? Do you think maybe something was wrong with it? Has she been a mama before? I can't remember if you have said or not. I'm so sorry!

The most interesting thing happened to me last night. I went outside to check the cows(we have a heifer in season and a bull trying to get to her)and a possum went running across the yard. Our dog went running after it and I followed. When I got up to them, the possum was playing dead! I know, I know. It's no big deal..but I've never seen it before. It was so cool! It just laid there. The dog didn't know what to do. He just stood there staring at it. I made a hissing sound and made his ears twitch alittle and I could see him breathing. It was just a cool thing to see if you've never seen it before. Yea, Yea..it doesn't take much to amuse us country people!

Evil looking little creatures!

Yes, they are evil. It is hard to even explain it. They just kinda amble around like they have no where to go or to be and then they turn around and you are like

Good morning all! We are going camping tomorrow. So today I am making salads and loading the camper. I should bake something too. Not sure what that will be though. Oh and I need the ingredients for my homemade Margaritas!

I am sorry to hear about the kitty Michelle. I have had many cats with kittens and those mamas do some strange things. I know its instinct and they know what they are doing, but some of their behavior baffles me! I have nursed several batches that mama(dif mamas over the years) abandoned. Some of those kittens made it and some I have lost. I always wonder if I did something wrong, but DH says they were prob sick and that's why Mama quit.

I had one baby from a litter of 7 that was born with the umbilical cord around its leg. I was gone that weekend, by the time I got the cord off the baby's foot was dead and just hanging there. The next morning the mama had chewed the foot off and then abandoned all of the baby's. She went outside and refused to come in. I had 7 orphans just days old!

Luckily I had a job where I could disappear for 20 minutes every once in a while and nobody would notice! They all survived happy and healthy. I kept the 3 legged one and named her Teeters, because she teeters when she walks! She is 4 now and is pregnant.

We also had a cat with baby's that were a few days old. We left for the weekend and locked her in a room by herself away from other cats and dogs. We came home to a kitten missing. I tore that room apart thinking it may have crawled behind something and got stuck or died. Never did find it, she must have eaten it!

I hope the remaining baby is healthy. You should post a picture, I bet its cute!!

We used to go camping quite a bit, but haven't done it in years. There is a state park about 2 hours or so away from here that hubby and son liked to go to because they had miles of timber to ride ATVs. So, we would pack the camper and go several weekends a summer. They have since outgrown that phase (thankfully with no one seriously injured) and we just don't go anymore. I kinda miss it.

I am sad to say we lost the last kitten yesterday. I know it must be instinct, but part of me wants to tell hubby to take her away and part of me wants to just hug her. I don't know.

I started my morning off busy with orders and ads to write, but finally caught up. Now I am still contemplating the parade and what we are going to do for the entry...

Sorry about the kitty, Michelle. How sad! I was pretty busy yesterday and it looks that way today. My sister lives next door and we found termites! I have to meet the exterminator today for her.
Good Morning Everyone!

Good morning Charmed one!

I am sorry to hear about the last kitty too. I am sad every time it happens too, natural or not.

We love to camp. Our son is gone more these days and its just not as much fun without him and his friends along. My husband says all w do is sit and stare at each other! I like it though, its less work for me and I can sit and relax, or go for walks, or read.... He gets bored though I guess! Maybe I am not as entertaining as I think!

I don't ride ATVS much. Love to ride , hate to drive! My DH, his BIL and the kids used to enjoy that. Two years ago this month my son almost died in an unexplained ATV accident. All precautions were taken, helmets, adult supervision, main road, everything. Sadly he was last in line to keep an eye on his 8 year old cousin and nobody saw him go over that cliff. He was just gone. Long story short, coma, tracheotomy, wheel chair, feeding tubes, surgery 54 staples in his head..... He is still in occupational and physical therapy. He limps bad but thankfully can still walk. His left hand is useless, but he is alive and we are grateful for that. (I want to add though that the helmet is truly the only reason he is alive. It was crushed, but held his head together. The ATV actually bounced off of his helmet on its way down. The rack on the ATV left an unmistakable crease where it hit. If it would have bounced on his 12 year old 65 pound body he would not be here.)

So those things scare the tar out of me! I am glad your family enjoyed them and their experience wasn't marred by something like this. It has changed the way my son looks at them. He is still young but he says he will never get on one again. However now he wants to drive a car!! One handed no less!!

Oh I can feel the gray hair growing in!!

That was one of my greatest fears when they were riding. But you betcha they wore helmets, boots, chest protectors and the whole nine yards no matter where they were going. Colton started riding around 3 years of age and always wore that stuff. It could get expensive, but was worth every dime! I am like you, would rather ride behind someone than drive, but I do have my own and will take it for a spin once in a while. No hills or timber, just up the road and easy stuff like that. I am glad your son made it through and agreed, nothing scarier than a teen boy ready to drive. My son wants to take his driver's test today, so we will see how that goes.
