Here is a pic of Thunder relaxing on Des' leg in my office a little bit ago. He is tired, been a long day for him!

Thats it Im buying another outside kennel just for the dogs when Im not home-you know what makes me mad..Both my kids are home and forget to let them out!!! I wont even get into it but I was livid when I got home today and found the mess my kids left for me-I told them I am on strike-figure out what you want for dinner and make it yourself-ad Im putting you guys in the hot sun for 8 hours wo food and water ( the chickens) and see how you like it! I feed and water them every night before I go to bed but it is not enough to last all the next day in this heat---we have a stinking hose right there!!! It's okay, my kids are the same way most of the time, and they are older and should know better! I have to specifically tell them to do something or they won't. Someone could be out of food and water, but unless I tell/ask they pretend like they don't notice or whatever. Except the chickens, Colton does take pretty good care of them since they are theirs.

Thunder did really well. He barked at the cats, but they didn't back down and he didn't go after them. (he was also on a leash). I didn't even take him to the backyard to the birds, decided I would just keep him away, if he started around the corner I would stop and say "No" and he would turn around. He did sniff the goats, turkey and guineas, but showed no interest. He will not get on the furniture unless you invite him. He has a bladder of iron and patiently waited for me to take him out this morning. I know what you mean about puppies, he is like an owner's dream. Someone has put a lot of time in training that dog, it must have been hard to decide not to take him back.

The kitten is now 6 days old! Still going strong! It is eating more and getting active, so I am holding out hope for it. It is the yellow and white one and once it gets a little bigger I think it will be a beautiful kitten. It still sleeps on a heating pad and curls up with a couple of stuffed animals. If it makes it and is a girl, Des wants to name her Reba. (after the theme song). Right now I have just been calling it Solo.

Good morning! I am happy to hear Solo is doing so good! What a cute name.

I have a chicken named Reba. I am a huge fan of her TV show. When I was younger I liked her music. I haven't heard any of her newer work. I listen to the radio very seldom and we don't have TV any more.

I read a weeks worth of newspapers at a time when my MIL brings them to me.

Ya know, I guess I just live in my own little world! I am a SAHM and have no complaints! I would stay home for a month or longer at a time if my family would allow it! It drives my hubby crazy!

He likes to go and do.

When he says what do you want to do today? My first thought is always something around the house or yard. ATV ride, fire in the front yard fire pit, a cool drink while sitting on the swing or if I am more energetic, paint the coop, garden work, walk the dogs! He gets frustrated because what he really means is WHERE do you want to go today! Why oh why doesn't he just say that!!

Good Morning! Glad to hear Solo is doing good! And also glad the dog is working out ok. We have a Jack Russell who would love to chase the chickens. We constantly watched him around them and kept telling him " No Birds!" Now he walks all around them and doesn't bother them at all. Once in awhile he tries to sniff them but that's it. Just stay with it. That dog may have been around chickens already.
Chickenchick...I am the same way. I would rather stay home than do anything. It took us so long to get a farm, I never want to leave! I do like to watch TV at night. What made you not have TV?
Anyone heard from NY today?

I love Reba's show and we still watch reruns everyday! She has a new album and of course it is really awesome, but I have always loved her!

My son raced his ATV Friday night. He had 3rd place sewed up in the main feature, but got greedy for 2nd and wrecked. He is okay, but the chest protector is completely busted at the shoulder. It was hubby's because he couldn't find his! Between that and riding in the demo car plus working the FFA cookshack this weekend he was toast on Sunday. Yesterday he started football practice from 7am to 2pm. Went to sleep at 4, woke up long enough to eat, and right back to bed! Poor guy, he is like you, would rather be home all the time working, so this has been a shock to his system! He did come by today and bring me doughnuts for my birthday on break, so he can be a sweet kid!

Have I asked you yet if you are going to the state fair any this year? The poultry will be there this weekend. I know Fudgie will be there, not sure what other BYCers are going. (she is the only one I have met and talked to).
