No, really Colton isn't an awesome player but he has worked really hard to get to where he is today. He played a season or 2 of flag football when he was really young, but decided he hated it. From then until starting his freshman year he thought it was crazy to work that hard and in the heat all summer long just to get beat up on the field, but he came home one day and said he wanted to play. Of course, everyone else has played for years so he had a lot of catching up to do! Here, it is a year round sport. They are required to lift weights during the school year Monday through Friday and Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the summer. They do get excused if they have vacation or something, but frown if you miss too much. They also have 2 weeks of football camp here in the summer and a week they go to a university for camp. Then they start practice around the first August and it is usually 7 am to about 1 pm until school starts. On non-game days, they start right after school until around 6:30. For several years we had a really good team, but have lost several key players and not enough talent to step up and take their place, so we are struggling a little this year. Nonetheless, we are still very proud of our boys and the dedication they do give to the team!
