Ever feel lonely when you dont have any PM's waiting for you?

Good Morning!

NY--I don't blame you at all for the grounding and I don't think it is considered "strict". Kids these days really don't even know discipline these days, so I commend you for not wanting to raise a "hoodlum". I feel I am more than fair to both my children, but you cross the line and watch out! The phone thing irritates me too, I finally broke both my children of that and they now know why they have them and that I can take them away at any time.

thechickenchick--I am also crazy for wanting those old snows back, but they are sooo pretty! I usually don't stock much extra for winter either, but for some reason this year, I feel like I should. So, I had hubby put an extra set of shelves in the garage for cans and we have a deep freezer we didn't have last year. We lose our power frequently too, so I made sure we have the smaller propane tanks full for the grill and turkey fryer and we also have a camp stove. I don't want to go without my food!

I also have extra food stored at the station in case I get stuck here. (just haven't figured out how to cook if there is no electricity) but I have plenty of snacks!

charmed--I tried to send you a pm just to check out my phone. Let me know if you got it. And, I am a terrible mom. Colton came home last night and I asked about his hand and he looked at me like I lost my ever lovin mind! Apparently he is over the hand injury we discussed on Monday and hurt his foot Tuesday. "Didn't I tell you it was my foot?" "no, son. you just said you hoped you wouldn't have to go for an x-ray." I did look back through my texts and he didn't specify, but I guess he had this crazy idea his dad would have passed the info on to me!

good morning my peeps! Thanks Michelle! My sister calls me Hitler-she tells everyone Im hitler-I say-yup and I wont change. I dont hit my kids-I dont punish too deeply but will if needed. I give my girls everything they "need" and alot of what they want-Like last night my freshman says "mom is it too much to ask for an IPOD touch for my Birthday?" ( what are they 200$) I said "I don't know hunny we'll have to see When it rolls around ( NOV)" I think that is very sweet to ask me if she's asking if I can afford something like that instead of just saying mom I WANT an Ipod touch for my Bday-that's how Im raising my girls-if they demand something from me- they dont get. When they are respectful and chip into the family needs with chores and such-you bet mom and dad are going try everything we can to fill their material needs-

Good Morning! Hope everyone is doing great today! Just one more day til the weekend! You all have me thinking about the winter now. I posted earlier about the almanac saying it was going to be a snowy winter. I have also noticed the wooly worms are pretty wooly this fall. That is something I have always heard to look for. We had our electricity go out for 2 weeks the year we had a big ice storm. Power lines were down everywhere. Luckily we had a gas generator to see us through. He rigged it up with an extra gas tank so it would run all night.

Chickenchick and Michelle......maybe this is something you should put on your list of things to get for the winter. Especially since you both live in the boonies!!! Also Michelle, get a little propane stove for the radio station. They should be on sale now at the end of the season?

NY...How is the cabin business coming? Were your second set of renters as nice as the first?

Our electricity goes out alot and our septic system freezes! not the cabin though-its always good:-( we had our 2nd renters coming but we canceled on them because they really were pains in the butts-they wanted us to arrange everything for them before they got here-like calling around and asking for rentals on things-priced of places to go-the cost of this and that-everyday it was like 2-3 more things they wanted us to check on-they never even sent a down payment to reserve the cabin 3 days before so we told them we already rented to another person who paid immediatly-we did but it was for an aunt and her family for 5 days-we have a ton of family functions at our house this weekend-so she said she would rent the cabin -we lose a little money but well worth not having a headache-now I guess we just wait to see if she pays ..LOL

I'm back. We were having a meeting about Halloween. Every year we have an open house and thinking of something different. I think we have come up with the idea of children's games throughout the station, punch at the end and they still get to talk on the air. So, now we are coming up with simple games, cheap prizes and inexpensive decorations. I am pretty excited and even going to dress up this year!

Yes, it is a good idea to just bring my camping stove to the station. We have the turkey fryer that we can use at home. It is a good possibility to be stuck at the station covering the weather. There already has been a few times hubby has had to come in and get me late evening on bad days.

NY--You are not Hitler. You just want good responsible children when they grow up. I feel a lot the same way you do. We do give our children everything they need and most of what they want, but we do ask for respect. There is a fine balance that can be achieved.

Okay guys, I am trying to be good.

We work in a decent size building that used to be several littler offices. Everyone has their own space (the building is a large circle per say) . We have 4 separate air/heat units. One is on the other side of the building (for KTTN control and offices over there). There is one in the back for those offices. The one in my office also controls the KGOZ studio (which is in satellite and only occasionally used). The last one is in the production studio and goes to Rochelle's desk. Every day someone comes into MY office and complains if it is too hot or too cold and adjusts my air accordingly.

If you don't like it, go to your OWN space! Rochelle is going through mid-life and hot flashes, so therefore thinks I should too. Every afternoon after lunch she takes a nap on my couch across from my desk and complains about the temperature. Now, Mark, the board op on the OTHER side of the building comes in to adjust it and then goes back to his side of the building!

I just don't understand, but I am about to go postal on the whole dang bunch! And when I say every day, no, I am not exaggerating!

Sorry, I had to get that off my chest. It is sunny and in the lower 70s today. I have my door open. I asked Rochelle before I left if it was okay if I leave it open. I get back, she is "resting" with a fan blowing on her saying Mark came back and said it was too hot outside and it was blowing in warm air so he shut the door.

There are days I will sit back here and sweat just so I don't cave in to how other people feel!

everyday I wear a tshirt and a sweater-whip the sweater off if it gets too cold. When they leave your office turn it right back to where it was-or better yet ask maintenance if they can put a clear plastic box over it that has a key only for them ( you) so no one else has access-My old BIL did that to my sister so she wouldnt turn the heat up beyond 58 degrees through the winter because he was frugal! CHEAP

I am going to have to do something or I am going to take the whole darn bunch out one of these days.

Seriously, no need to be in MY office, so go back to your own space!

I dress appropriately for the weather, so should you! Adjust your own air, go home and take a nap if you are that darned tired!
smack.gif
She naps from 1-2 and leaves at 3!! And sometimes will talk on her cell phone the whole time she is laying down. I usually tolerate, but it is just about to drive me crazy today!!

haha-can you tell your boss? how about putting a lock on your door or better yet a sign that you will charge anyone who enters a pack of cigarettes!!!

There are doorways, but no doors or locks on our side of the building. The boss is one of those type that, um, how do I put it? He would post a note, no one would follow it and that would be the end of it. I thought about posting something along the line of "Dear Temperature Control Committee..." I am just trying to keep myself together right now and not go off on anyone. I am trying to be the better person! (so hard for me to keep my mouth shut and my sarcasm to myself). My other huge pet peeve in MY office (while we are on the subject) is the lights. I have 2 sets of long lights in the walkway in front of my desk and a light strip over my desk. I also have a huge picture window I can look out. Both the lights are controlled separately. I only turn on the one above my desk which also turns on the one in the KGOZ studio. No need to turn on the other light because of the windows and other light. People feel the need to come through and turn that light on.

I guess I am just having a grumpy day!
