I am going to my sister's this afternoon and we are going to cook together for tomorrow. We used to go over and help mom since she has to make turkey, dressing, noodles, pies and whatever else for 40 people, but we have come to realize that we do more harm than good. If there is one day a year we cannot stand our mother, it is the day she is cooking for Thanksgiving. It is like she just morphs into a monster! We have come to terms with it and she knows it, so we just steer clear until it is time to show up at the place that night. She always worries too much about everything and gets way too stressed out. And, by the way, Mom is an excellent cook, but we can't convince her she does just fine!

How many people do you have to cook for Terrie?

My sister is waiting for me too but it will probably be after lunch. I still haven't told my boss I am leaving early yet!

Just me and hubby. I have let people I know here that they are welcome to stop in. I am so used to hosting Thanksgiving, I am not sure I could downsize it.

Because we moved way out in the middle of nowhere, it was hard to coordinate Thanksgiving here because of elderly family members unable to make the trip and a daughter ready to give birth in a couple weeks.

I will make up "TV Dinners" in tupperware divided vent n serve dishes for the freezer and we will have left overs for a while.

Leftovers rock! I bring as much home as I can. Turkey is my absolute favorite food! And even with a growing son, I still cook every meal like I am feeding an army, you never know who will stop by! If we don't have leftovers I feel like I didn't cook enough. However, when we have to host the 20+senior football players and coaches next fall for a meal, will you come help me? That sounds a little overwhelming to me!

I made it back from the store in one piece although I think the whole town waited til the last minute to go shopping! Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! I talk to y'all Friday. I have talked myself into staying away from Black Friday this year! You'll have to help me through the withdrawls!!

We have the electric turkey fryer going right now. Frying turkey today so I can take some home with me. I'm making chicken and noodles per DH's request. But Thanksgiving ain't Thanksgiving without some turkey!
