Yep! We haul our water from a natural spring about 3 miles away. It gets put in the cistern and is pumped to the house with an electric pump. Not such a slick idea when there isn't any power

AND yes our mail lady rides a beautiful horse, or is that you coming down the road?!

Wait -you haul your water all the time? how far away and how do you do that???

So glad to have you back chickenchick!!

I haven't even taken pics of the babies yet! By the time they got here, we ran them home, got them settled in, had to take Colton back to town, got home, hubby was in driveway to leave for the visitation (in Chillicothe). Got back home, fixed supper and put the 2 duckies outside, had to run back to town to get gas so I wouldn't have to today in the rain, by then it was 10 and I was pooped. Besides, I am just a touch grouchy with this quitting smoking thing. (ask my family, even Thunder, they will tell you I am a bear!)

The little kitties make me smile every time I walk up on the porch! Their eyes are so big and bright since they are newly opened and their little ears are almost on top of their head where they need to be and they are so fuzzy! I came out this morning and said good morning to them and one started running toward me (can't get out, still in the hutch) and was wobbling back and forth on its little legs. I scooped it up and started kissing on it and it just meowed and purred at the same time. So adorable!! I will need to get some more pics of them too!

Those tic tacs Kenny speaks of are I think passion fruit or something like that. I really like them too! I haven't found them in the last few days of looking. I have green apple, wintergreen, orange and fresh mint so far. I keep them in my pocket where my cigarettes used to be.

Isn't that just an old fashioned pump that used to be on wells? I have one of those next to the duck pond. I will ask Nester and Chester, they probably wouldn't mind if I sent it your way!

Sorry I disappeared for a while y'all, life has just been crazy here

. Had my first successful hatching

, then spun into a severe depression and nobody else took care of the littles . I only have 1 left from that first batch

. I'm doing better now

, partly because I went to see a therapist and have an appointment for next month to get back on my meds

. Before I went in this last depression I had set an overfull bator and they just hatched

. It ended up being a staggered hatch cause my polish and ee decided to lay after the first 38 were set

so I put them in too

. Out of the first 38 I hatched out 30

. The last 5 are due to hatch tomorrow

. All chickies are staying in my room till they're old enough to go outside so will won't have any repeats. I've been so mad at myself and everyone else

. On a happier note, all my outside chickens and buns are doing great and I'll be building a new hutch for the buns now that they're almost 6 weeks old. We're keeping this first liter for breeders

. I'll be re-breeding Lily this weekend and will hopefully have buns to sell in July.

I hope everyone else is doing well and sorry again for disappearing on y'all.

Thank you both. I've really missed y'all

. I just had Scott, my youngest boy, go check how many eggs my guineas have laid under the back building. Don't ask me why but that's where they've chosen to lay

. He said there was 16 so I had him pull a dozen out so I can swap for turkey eggs

. Oh yeah, guess what name I picked for my farming business, lol.
