Ever feel lonely when you dont have any PM's waiting for you?

Either someone knew it would be that muddy, so they took his to wear instead or my better guess is that he has misplaced them. I would tend to lean toward the second suggestion. (remember that he is Terry's son!

Or maybe Vampira likes him too and has them stuck up on the wall in her cave.....er..room.

I am jealous! They are so darned cute! Maybe by spring we will get everything regrouped and I will think about looking into them myself. Have I already asked you what you feed them?

They need a really high protein feed. Game bird feed or a nonmedicated turkey feed is best. I read that the babies should be fed feed with 30% protein. That is simply not available here. In fact, I have a terribly difficult time just finding game bird food or turkey food here at all. I can get little 5 pound sacks at tractor supply. They cost a fortune. I did find a place 30 miles from here where I can get game bird food, at least. That's about $15 for 50 pounds. That's what I feed the adults. It's 24% protein. I feed the more expensive stuff from Tractor Supply to the babies.

You have to use an electric coffee grinder (or something similar) to grind up the food for the babies to something close to the texture of cornmeal. The crumbles are FAR too big for them to eat, otherwise.

You also would want quail waterers for them. Get the flat marbles from the craft section and put them in the water trough, even with the narrow quail waterers. Quail babies are especially susceptible to dying if they get wet. Button quail babies are worse and can drown in even the smallest amount of water. Chick waterers are way too big. You could drown a hundred quail babies in one of those.

We feed the game bird food to our ducks, geese and guineas. We get it at Orscheln's. Do you have one of those around? If it is by chance not available, we buy the meaty bird food at the feed store. I have never seen quail waterers. What do they look like?

You know, I had not even thought to check for a local Orscheln's. Sure enough, there is one about 15 miles from me. That's a bit closer. I'll have to see what they have in stock.

Quail waterers look like chicken chick waterers, except the trough is much narrower. I have seen even the quail waterers in two different sizes. One is even narrower than the other, which is what I prefer. They also sell some little tiny waterers that can go on a 20 ounce soda bottle, which can then be mounted on the outside of the cage, with the waterer through the door. I've been going to order some of these but haven't done it yet.

Yeah with my job keeping me outside all day and then I have an afternoon nap, it does seem like we are never on at the same time. Don't have to work tomorrow so I am going to be lazy as I can with Isaac here lol.
I have not really given it a whole lot of thought about names yet since I don't know the sex but I have a really strong feeling it is a girl. I was the same with with Isaac and was right. Didn't even bother to pick out a girl name for him.
