I tried a new recipe this morning. We all loved it. It was fast and easy, plus it is inexpensive and is made with ingredients you have on hand. They turn out soft and fluffy. I served them fresh out of the oven. So I am not sure how they are after they cool.
Cinnamon Butter Puffs
1/3 cup shortening
1/2 cups sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup milk
Topping:
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup butter
Preheat the oven to 350. Grease mini muffin tin. (I used regular)
Beat the shortening, sugar and egg in a mixing bowl.
Mix the dry ingredients together and blend into the sugar-egg mixture. Pour in the milk and beat until smooth.
Fill the muffin tins 2/3 full and bake for 20 minutes. (check @ 15, my oven may be hotter)
Let cool for 3 minutes. Roll in butter, then in cinnamon and sugar mixture. So sweet and so yummy!!
