(I'm remembering a rather pricey coffee machine bill once....)

I have no idea. I always have tons of stuff plugged in around here, but no matter how much or how little my electric bills always seem to be about the same.

I'd hate to know how much DH's 2 saltwater fishtanks are costing us in electricity.

ETA: It is currently full of EEs, Mottled/frizzle Cochins, & Buff Barred Cochins (all from my chickens) and I have a shipment of Marans coming next week.

How much does your electric normally run on a monthly basis? Ours is around $250-300 no matter what I do.

$100 a month, 4 bedroom house, 2 people... 1 giant espresso/coffee/cappucinno machine - a sunday or two with some heavy machinery.... but I work nights so the lights aren't usually on, and we have electricity saving (read: super stupid and impossible to read under) lightbulbs and our oven is gas with electric start. Gas is about $30-60 a month depending on how many baths I want nice and hot.

I don't want to know what's going to happen when that fishtank of the boys becomes operational.

Edit: Oh and after that bill we had TWO police visits and a couple choppers go overhead... apparently they thought I had a grow room!!! Hahahahaha no, then I could afford to pay the darn electricity bill!!!!

One of our friends had a grow room and was busted. Tons of police came busting in to book him, searched his house and... found flowers. The hot spot and electricity and funny sales he was doing? Was rare breeds of flowers.

My husband said he wanted to make a grow room with veggies in it for me... I said, honey... can we please not INVITE trouble? ....as funny as getting busted for 2kg of tomatoes would be....

How big is your family? I always wonder if we're high or low for two people... but we have a big house? So I never know if I should count size of house or people using it.
