We love ya!

Lucky stars above you,
Sunshine on your way,

Many friends to love you,
Joy in work and play-

Laughter to outweigh each care,
In your heart a song-

And gladness waiting everywhere
All your whole life long.

I love this -- Thanks Tex

You're welcome, honey. I saw this this morning on an Irish Blessing site .. and thought it was PERFECT for you ..

Oh, forgot to mention, Saturday while running my route, a customer came up to her box asking me if I wanted to see her baby goats! We have only spoken once befor when I had to deliver a package to her, and I asked about her chickens that I was wanting to know the breed of.
They were the just the cutest things!! She said they were nigerian (SP) dwarfs. It was feeding time so when she handed one to me it was so sweet how it was sucking on my fingers and hands lol.
She said she had 2 goats that she needed to give away that were 3yo does. I know nothing about goats other than like all animals, they will need food and shelter. She said she payed $50 each for them ( because of no papers) but would give them to me if I wanted them. My mother has a really big barn with horses and 30+ acres and wants them but also knows very little about goats.

What do yall think? Should I get them. She said they had all their shots and were tested for diseases recently.

Can you breed a 3yo dwarf goat or are they getting too old?

ETA: Forgot to ask, what are they good for other than pets and lawnmowers?

No, I'm not an enabler.

Ok, but seriously, I LOVE my goats. And the Nigerians are small, although they have big attitudes. And they're the only "mini" dairy goat, so you can milk them too. You can breed them up until they're 10ish if they're in good health. I would make sure you SEE the paperwork and what they've been tested for. CAE is the biggie b/c you have to bottle raise all kids.

My nigis:

Spec (the one that got injured by the dogs), who is due in 8 days:

Merlin (no injuries), who is due in 11 days:

Had no idea you could milk them! How do they compare to Nubian as far as milk taste?
I have a friend that trades me eggs all the time for her milk from her Nubians and I can not tell any difference in taste between that and cow milk I get from walmart.

How much do they produce compared to a Nubian?

Good morning folks!!

Wake up and stuff!

Yeah, I can't sleep again lol. Carpel tunnel keeps me awake all the time. Does not hurt as long as I am sitting up or standing. Too bad I can't sleep while standing.

Hope yall are all having a good morning and can join us a little today. Yesterday was weird with half the regulars being gone.

I had carpel tunnel surgery on both wrists so I know exactly what your going through. I use to prop myself up in bed so I could sleep alittle bit! What ever you do, don't let them cut in you. One little incision in the palm and one in the wrist is all you need. Where I worked, several people got carpel tunnel. I got the good surgery. Others after me got the cheaper bad kind. I didn't have a lick of trouble but they did. It was the company cutting costs cause so many were getting hurt. Sorry you're having trouble.
