Aww, I love that pic of Sophie and that chick is adorable!!

Good morning all! We got most of the trailer painted last night. Just a bit in the kitchen left and the cabinets. We still have to put the bathroom and kitchen together and lay down some flooring and work on a water issue. It will not come soon enough to move them out! They are taking all the baby stuff over today to set up the nursery!

I also got a chicken issue settled. My barred rocks love to fly over the pen and then spend the rest of the time trying to figure out how to get back in. So, we put up snow fence on the top to keep their fuzzy butts in! Destiny was getting tired of going chicken wrangling every day when we got home. And it is only the barred rocks that do it!!

UUUH, Barred Rocks are flighty? I'm getting 4, just for some brown eggs to put under my broody Ameraucanna. I sell hatching eggs and need to make sure I don't inadvertantly give a EE mutt egg out to some one who wants to raise my line of beautiful Ameraucanas. (Ameraucanas lay blue eggs) My birds stay in their fencing which is 4' high. Good thing as the coyotes are plentiful around here and 2 were walking the property just yesterday afternoon. If they teach my birds to fly out of the enclosure ( 1/2 acre) then I will lose all my birds. How concerned should I be?

I have 4 each of barred rocks, buff orpingtons and rhode island reds. From the day we brought those barred rocks home, they have been little troublemakers! They were flying out of their brooders as babies and are now in a 6 foot dog kennel. They like to roost on the top ledge and I guess they get turned around and jump down the wrong way. For the last week we have had at least one out every day when I get home from work. In fact, I thought I lost one Saturday morning when I went out and she wasn't around. Went back out Sunday morning and there she was trying to get back in! I was surprised since we have a neighbor dog that thinks of my yard as a smorgasbord! The other 8 I have had no problem with. That being said, those barred rocks are full of personality and I wouldn't trade them for the world! Also, with my luck, I could just have the only trouble making BRs out there!

Cute chicky pics and kitty pics.

Paradise, glad to hear the meet was good. i hope to go to one sometime.

Tanya, the Goddess weekend sounds awesome. Would love to be there. love your attitude on your new adventure with your DH. Where in Colorado? I have friends out in Denver.

Well one more day and off to the beach. I am so excited. A bit worried about mom. Her air conditioner went out Friday and will not be fixed until the end of this week. I hear it in her voice. She refused to go to my sisters, said she was fine. Thankfully God sent some cooler weather her way in the 70's and 80's none of this 100 degree crap. She also has a chest cold starting. I can't wait to see her and see for myself she is okay. she is leaving today to go my sisters then they come here tomorrow and off to the island.

Linda has surgery the 31st. she has been in so much pain. another issue, they have taken her off her estrogen, because it feeds her cancer. she is going into full blown menopause. Hot flashes, night sweats, her moodiness is off the chain. I feel so bad for her. She asked the doctor if she could have one more shot to get her through this surgery and i guess he said no. she takes a half cc once per month.

Michelle, I guess you are ready to get the kids into their own place. So happy it's close to you so you can spoil that new baby. What did they decide to name him?

Nat, how you feeling. What's the status on your knee?

Tex, it was good to see you pop in. Sure miss your Irish humor.

Kelly, hows the new job working out for you?

Charmed -- Where are you????

The rest of you --

Have a great day ladies......

Good Morning Robin! Still thinking about Linda. Tell her we are praying that she get some relief soon. I got news yesterday that a close family friend, only a year older than me has been diagnosed with less than 6 months to live. The cancer has traveled through the bones and his kidneys are close to shutting down. About a year ago we got into a little argument and I feel like I need to make amends soon. We don't see each other often and I feel like we would be fine when we do, but I just feel like time is running out. I have been trying to gather the courage and words to say to him. It is going to be really tough.

Lindsie went to the doc yesterday. Her next appt is Sept 13 and he told her if she is dilated at all he is going to keep her and induce. Why can't women just have babies naturally anymore? Her due date is not until the 26th. The real kicker is that the "Gathering of the Goddesses" is Destiny and I going to visit Tanya. We won't even get back until late on the 12th or early on the 13th!! We moved the date up so it would not interfere with the due date and now it seems we are still cutting it way close! I have told them all along though that I refuse to miss this trip and if I am not here, I will be back soon!!

Enjoy the beach! I hope your mom is doing well.

Michelle-why do doctors do that? So what if she's dialated...I walked around dilated 3cm for 3 weeks!!! let her go natural for crying outloud....You go to the gathering of the goodness! Everything will be fine just have a stern lecture for Lindsie that she is not allowed to do "anything" that could cause her to go into labor!!!! LOL

Your box is on its way-mailed yesterday and its busting at the seams:)

Thank you so much Nat!

Her mom is in Vegas this week. As she got out of the car Linda told her the duck tape is in the cabinet to use if needed!!

I am already missing Colton's birthday for this trip, but it was the only time I could change to. I am not going to feel bad if she goes into labor, we have had the conversation. I can see him when we get back!!

Oh, and Robin, they have decided on Traygen, but I still call him Ducky!
