I've only ever seen 3 in my life time. I heard they are pretty rare. My husband and I walked out our back door yesterday and there one stood eating those helicopter seeds that fall from our tree. I quick went in and grabed the camera of course, took a few photo's. Then went back in to get a few shelled peanuts. I should have known to give my hens something to do cause when I threw the peanut, not only did the squirrel run for it but so did my hens. They all stoped dead in their tracks when each saw each other and the squirrel ran up the tree. I haven't seen him since. I hope it's still up there.

When I was 10, a very long time ago, I spent a summer chaseing around an albino robin.
It was all white with a pink breast.
I eneded up getting in the local paper for finding it.
But iv'e never seen a black squirel, and ive seen alot of squirles.

Don't know. I live in Pa. Never heard of a Rock Squirrel. We don't see these squirrels often at all. Grey Squirrels we have over stock of. I'm wondering if mabey it's someones pet because it didn't seem afraid of us at all.

Wow...I guess it's not a freak of nature after all. Just not common here in Pa I guess.
I'd like to see that albino robin that barg mentioned, that sounds awsome!!
My B-in law found a albino deer fawn last year. I't's mother was hit by a car. Game Commision took it to a private rescue.
