Sounds like its hotter than 7 kinds of hell all around hua... Was 103 today, heard the index was near 116. My birds re suffer'n even with ice in the water. Gett'in my crew ready to start pave'n is go'n over like a lead ballon too. Asphalt comes off the truck about 300 degs...

Summertime SUX in the south. I hate it. I used to be able to deal with it, but when the 100º+ heat index period arrives at the first of June, and doesn't let up before the REAL summertime sauna is supposed to start (which is about now), deep dark depression sets in here for me. 112º heat-index-days are common-place here lately..........rain is almost non-existant. I can deal with the teens, but I can't deal with this steam-room I'm livin' in these days.

I hate summer!

Heat index of 110 sux.
I'm lucky I live 2 hrs from the NC mountains. Overnight temps around 67 up at Mount Mitchell State Park (6600 ft elev) are looking mighty inviting this week. Road Trip!

Not gonna replace my birds till the heat goes away. Figure I'll get the heat tolerant genes from the breeders that way.

I saw on the national news this morning somewhere in Kentucky the heat index was 123 yesterday -- I think it was Owensborough, but I'm not sure.

I can't begin to imagine how awful that must feel.
