Everybody Having Fun In The Heat?

NOT to one-up anyone here BUT.....109 today with the temp above 100 after 9:30 am. We peaked with 111 yesterday. Oh and this is the cool part of the summer. Still above 90 now. We have been misting the air around the quail coop and spraying the shady spots of the yard to keep the chickens from panting with mouths agape. Best part of the day is getting up at 4:30 in the morning to listen to the quail and watch them flit about before the sun hits the ground. I noticed my coturnix are active about 1/2 hr before the chickens.

It's pretty hot and dry here. We had a windy and dry hailstorm a couple nights ago but my land looks like a desert

I have been "spritzing" or "mistiing' them with the hose a couple times a day. They seem to rather like it as opposed to the chickens in the other part of the yard. My cortunix actually get under the dripping water and start fluttering their feathers. I spray everything down and within a couple of minutes everthing is dry and back to blazing hot again.

106 here right now....but its texas what can ya say?

lol may experiment and just leave some eggs out to see if they will incubate themselves LOL

we've had serious electrical storms the past 4 nights, MAJOR thunder and lightening, tons of rain, heat hasn't broke as of yet, it just HUMID as HELL out here now

hopefully it gets better
