Pear Jr has become very accustomed to living with me! He sleeps in an XL dog crate that's covered up at night. Every morning I carry him downstairs and he gets a salad bowl with grit mixed in, when he finishes, he goes with me in the car to Starbucks! He has a blue basket that he sits in and loves to look out the window and yell at people who are walking on the sidewalk.
At Starbucks, the regular barista LOVES Pear, she used to own fowl when she was younger and says hi to Pear every morning and I think he's starting to recognize her because he stands straight up and HONKS so loud. It's one of the only times that he actually honks. The rest of the time its just a raspy peep.
When we get home from Starbucks we let all of the babies out to eat grass and meet the older geese, Pear usually grazes in the middle of them. The biggest ones climd all over my legs and slowly migrate to Pear and peck at him and climb on his back, I think he gets SO confused because he thinks he's a person. He stands guard while I clean out the brooder and keeps the young ones under control!
After the babies are done Pear and I go to the big geese and fill up their big pool and give them fresh water and food, then we play with the hose until it gets too hot out!
Inside the kitchen Pear knows where everything is, so usually he just stands by the fridge and bites it until you feed him.
I go to Chickfila every day for lunch, I've been doing that for over three months now and I don't plan on stopping! Pear comes with me everytime, he has been since he was a little baby! All of the cashiers know his name and I think he knows that he is famous!
For the rest of the day we take care of the baby geese and hang out in the kitchen, he now doesn't let the dogs come in unless you tell him to "be nice". He also knows what a car door sounds like and runs to the back of the house to wait for whoever just got home, when they walk in he checks them out up and down to make sure everything is safe.
Pear has brought so much joy back to my life ever since Pear the First died. She's still the background of all of my electronics and we have pictures of her hung up around the house. He has some big feathers to fill, but right now he's going a pretty good job...

Pear and our little goose that couldn't walk. He was very gentle with her, she passed away at four days old while sitting in my lap.

Pear riding in the car when he was smaller before he got his big blue basket!
