Here are my very first pidgies that I acquired last Friday.

I was told they are pet quality English trumpeters, which is why they have no tuft by their nares/beak. They are infested with feather lice & each wing feather I looked at was lined with lice eggs.

I will be treating them this weekend. Hopefully after their next molt, their feathers will be stunning. I was told they are a young pair but I have not heard any vocalizing from either of them yet. Also, they are terrified of me

I am open to thoughts & critiques on my birdies.

Hand feed either shelled unsalted peanuts or sunflower hearts "AS TREATS ONLY" (guaranteed they cannot resist both) never try to handle them when they are feeding. They will begin to be hand tamed and come to your call. I have White Homing Pigeons know for being aloof. I am swamped when I enter the coop and when I call them around the loft only. When they are brought our for a Toss they are all business to get home I tossed them from a celebration 100 miles from their loft and they raced me home. I will have to make a video of my white homers this summer. In a perfect world all my birds are supposed to be snow white according to their parents. This is a young feral blue bar who trapped into mo loft I kept him for a few days but was it was unable to keep up with the training regiment of my white homers.

Thanks for the taming tips! I will start doing that!! I'd love to see a video of what you described! It'd be stunning!
