All the chicks made it through the night last night....went this morning and bought a heated light to replace one of the bulbs.......Red one was $13 clear was $3 hope it doesn't make a difference witch i dought it....

I got the red one at Walmart about a week ago for $4.95.

Glad to hear your babies are thriving. Mine are all doing well also.

thinking its still to hot in there...it's 105 and i've got the light on a dimmer switch....lights about off ....will this effect the new chicks at all?

Too hot chicks will be panting, spreading their wings for air circulation, and getting as far away from the light as they possibly can. Make sure you have plenty of room for them to get away from the light if it's too hot.

well i do ..it's a 4' x 3' area heating light is on the left and a 45 w bulb on the right ...they all are in the corner huddle up on the heat light side....i keep turning the dimmer switch down...

I have a hanging lamp and that way I can just raise it till they aren't all hiding as far away as they can get.
