It's beyond me as well. There is no shortage of cruel people.... I don't have an understanding behind this.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers it doesnt make it to you.It is a terrible feeling - happily we're only in the 'level 1' area now, but we're on heavily forested land and all it takes is an ember carried on the wind. This morning it was so dark here that at 10am the vast majority of my flock were still in the coop on their roosts because it was that dark. The air quality changes depending on the wind direction - we're getting a good coating of ash right now. If it comes this way my only hope of saving the chickens is to put them in the house crawlspace. Yep, that sounds bad but it's actually really big and is the coolest, most protected area on the property and is their only real hope if one of these monster fires makes its way over here.
Apparently, it is a disorder, pyromania, and they can't help themselves. But really, people like that should be safely contained and medicated.Seriously!!
My DH works outside near huge fields and two weeks ago, during the heatwave, they witnessed a random guy starting a fire and leaving! Luckily fire department put it out before it was out of control but I just cannot imagine why a person would be so cruel. Natural disaster is one thing but deliberately insensitive individuals are beyond me
Then, last night we saw a fire in the distance but I haven't found a news article so I assume they put it out as well
Just hoping for the best and for everyone... firefighters, evacuees, the farmers and animals who have to be released or evacuated... That has to be one of the toughest decisions.
Its so heart breaking. You can only take your best chance and pray! I didnt get an egg from my guinea yesterday and I can only assume its from the lack of sun. Today is a little lighter in the sky and the wind is still. I have hope!It is a terrible feeling - happily we're only in the 'level 1' area now, but we're on heavily forested land and all it takes is an ember carried on the wind. Yeah anyone diagnosed with that should have to wear a tracker. Dh means dear husbandApparently, it is a disorder, pyromania, and they can't help themselves. But really, people like that should be safely contained and medicated.
Also, what does DH mean, Dominant Half ☺?
Yes I woke and noticed this too. Its so still its Erie. I don't know if I've ever seen it this still..We are in Oregon's Willamette Valley and the smoke is still terrible this morning but no wind. No wind sounds good but without a breeze the smoke will stay. I've been thinking about folks that have to evacuate and leave their animals, how horrible.
You will all loathe this, but guy fawkes comes to mind. If I caught anyone of those brats causing you all such devastation they had better run very fast from me, whatever their reasons may beApparently, it is a disorder, pyromania, and they can't help themselves.
