Evil Chicken Mites

Do the eggs taste like garlic?
I eat a LOT of garlic and add it to most everything that would need salt. (Garlic is good for your vascular system by keeping cholesterol build up low. Insects, like mites, mosquitoes, chiggers, ticks, and fleas that are blood suckers, hate it and will stay away.) So I probably won't notice. However everyone I have ever given dozens of eggs to has never said anything. And they come back for more. LOL. I will guess that just like everything else you feed them it will at least pass on some flavor or benefits. But if you feed them watermelon do you taste the watermelon?

I have had good success with using elemental/feed grade sulfur in the dust bath, and in the coop, and in general I tend to sprinkle it around my garden and the chicken pasture for fertilizer reasons so the girls probably also eat a lot of it. Haven't had a mite issue in 5 years, or parasite issue really. But I also never had to treat a big mite pandemic, I had a small issue with mites from wild birds as I have a number of bird feeders the chickens rummage under, but nothing huge before I started using sulfur.

I was reading that it is actually the sulfur in garlic that makes it effective at all, sulfur is apparently amazing for many different reasons, so I just cut out the middle man, ;) though I do still give them garlic as treats.

Here is an article talking about the chemical makeup of garlic and its effects. Mostly human subject focused.
