I just found this thread, what is it when you see 'gross', 'warning' or 'beware' we always wanna see. Lol.

But on a serious note, sorry to hear about the cyst. Its painful and never a fun thing to have. I tried reading all 20+ pages, but couldnt so I just skimmed over every other page or so. Have you talked to the Dr. about this maybe being MRSA? That is spreading like wildfire everywhere and can be very serious. You can have your Dr test you for it and see if he has it or not. I found out I was a carrier of it.

Which means I get them every so often, but its normally just passed on if your not very careful about it. Such as open wounds or blood. About once a week I go through the house and Lysol things down. Hubby seems to get one once a year. Although his is just a small cyst, its still a cyst.

Sorry I didnt mean to ramble or get you worried, Im just a strong advocate of trying to prevent the spread of it at all possible cost. Like I said, its a nasty little thing to have and I wouldnt wish it upon anyone.

OK now that Mount Cystet has erupted....where's the pics.....and how is Paul bearing up......even after that has been *popped* it must still be really sore......

Looking at that pic on the web - OMG !! I was starting to forget what it looked like since it's been deflated.

I want to thank everyone for your concern. He slept all day yesterday and was carrying a 99.8 fever - a teeny one, but we were watching closely. This morning he feels a lot better, and it's our anniversary! So that's good. It's getting to the "itchy" stage now.

Yesterday after he rested, he asked me to take the after pic! I got it. (I'm at work right now) I'm going to be a little busy today, having my sister and BIL over for this evening for VD get together. (somehow that didn't sound right

) If I manage, I'll post that pic today, if not, then tomorrow. I won't disappoint!

havi - thanks for that info. Paul is on Enbrel for his arthritis, it's a potent drug and makes you actually get a blood infection. So he has to be careful around people who are sick. This infection was caused by a cyst that he should have removed LONG ago but he didn't do it. These things tend to finally emerge and get infected. Which it did, because of his condition he will take longer to heal.

EC - it was massive and that pic was taken on Friday, today it is going down more. The area is getting flatter.

Yesterday Paul must have gotten it wet in the shower

then he has sweating all that night, sooooo it started to smell bad, and guess who had to pull the 1' length of gauze out?
big_smile.png
Then I irrigated it with saline solution and drained it and stuffed fresh gauze into it. That's the reason it still has a hump. They don't want to close it yet - they have to remove the sac. That should be next week.

The continuing saga of the cyst. Or the uncyst.

Ahhh so Mount cystet contin ues....I knew there was more to come.....I know there is more to blow yet........got to tell Wynette theres another eruption coming...the sac is filling up.....thats probably what the smell is...still infection there.......

Sorry Paul and
hugs.gif
....but we can't wait for the next episode of Mount Cystet....will it or won't it blow again......
