Ewww, ewww, ewww! Floating Eggs!!!

My mother just called and asked me what it means when eggs float... her store bought eggs are literally floating on top of the water!

Yuck! I wonder how old an egg has to be before it will float!

... And I just had mini-blueberry muffins a few minutes ago. Thats discusting!!! I read in Storeys Guide, an egg has to be older than 3 weeks at least.

My chicken eggs, kept on the counter will start to tip up at around 5-7 weeks. I would imagine a week or so more and they'd float.
