Ewwww my chickens just ate a garden slug...bleeech

The only trouble is that they pick up a lot parasites by eating these bugs and things -if you had a heart attack in the coop they would likely eat you too

I asked the same thing a few days ago. I know in dogs the worms they can get is not nice and can be deadly. But alot of people said slugs and worms for chickens is OK. May get worms, but easy to treat and not deadly. Thing is if chickens are free range and you have alot of them u won't be able to keep them from eating them. So gotta see them as animals that are gonna eat these things. Just treat as you go. Never heard of parasites from slugs. Worms yes. Parasites nope.

Ok, ok, ok. I might have contributed to this one. My big rooster...just ate a mouse. He might have found it himself, or, I might have tossed it to him after I found it in a pitcher he couldn’t get out of...

It took him about 15 minutes, and most of the time he was dragging the body around like a prize with everyone chasing him.

Oh, and he’s not even half grown. He’s going to be the Godzilla of chickens.
