My two hens and cockerel are in full view of my window and i can see them all day and she is always drinking.Hi mollymoo! Welcome to BYC!! It's so nice to have you join us! View attachment 1187551
Do your chickens have water in front of them all time? Is it possible your hen isn't able to get a drink frequently? For instance, if another hen is bullying those trying to get a drink...and that hen is using your presence as an opportunity to drink because it's safe? It'll look like she's always drinking water, but in reality she'd only be over drinking when you attend the coop. Sometimes this can happen to subordinate chickens.
Chickens are very smart that way.![]()
Ok, then it's clearly not what I suggested...lol. I thought it could've been a possibility if you had a higher number of chickens. My two hens and cockerel are in full view of my window and i can see them all day and she is always drinking.
