Excessive heat days in Arizona

I vote for misters. We had a few 100+ days in California & I did fan and mister. Found this battery powered, bucket top option at Home Depot, too.

3 of my chickens in Tucson today. I had misters and ice blocks in their water, I'm just devastated. Any ideas besides excessive heat that they would've died? Was it the misters making them too wet? And what are the odds that 3 died at the same time? I'm completely heartbroken
I'm so, so sorry. My friends and co workers have been losing chickens all week, it's horrible. It's just too damn hot. Everyone is doing all that they can, I think you did the best you could with misters and ice blocks, I mean, what more can you possibly do besides put a big a/c unit on your coop? Which is expensive and excessive. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

My awesome friend brought over some electrolytes and besides their nipple watered I've added a pan of shallow water. They stand in it every so often and now even at 105-110 they are not even panting. They are also much more active than they were. Also giving a pan of frozen berries as well. And my Emu loves the strawberries too!

I've learned the hard way I guess - and I do miss my girls very badly. If you told me last year I'd be in love with chickens I would have told y'all that you had lost your mind. I always try to be positive though, 2 laying hens survived as well as the 4 "teenagers" (chicks we got last spring). It could have been all of them- so I'm grateful.

My friend is coming over tomorrow with electrolytes and stuff. She also lost 7 this week- all older hens, she has 60+ chickens and one was her daughters fav rooster :( this heat for Tucson is extreme this week, it usually rarely breaks 110 in the summer here but it's been 115-117 all week and today the high was supposed to only be 110....the high was 112 but last night was still hot in the 90's at 11pm. They we're all fine this morning and I'm just so sad they suffered. Only thing I did different was adjusted the misters to point a smidge more away from the coop bc it was becoming a mushy mess and that minor change could've been it which kills me bc I know they suffered. I'm putting water pans out tomorrow for them as well to make sure, I don't think I could handle another loss. I only had 9 hens :(
Yeah....I understand about the heat. I'm in Tucson also I only have 5 hens and I was so worried. I just let the coop be muddy. I figure muddy is cooling for hippos. I hope you didn't lose any others.
