I have a 4-5 week old baby chick who is lethargic, has ruffled feathers, and hunched over. Her hocks are purplish. I checked under her wings and they are also purplish. I will provide some pictures. Something that I also noticed is that saliva comes out and sometimes like vomits out food? The food comes out with saliva/mucus. I do not know what is going on. It also seems as if food gets stuck in her mouth. Food gets stuck at the top of her beak inside and at the top of the beak at the bottom (in the mouth). I open her beak, and she sometimes has this sticky saliva or mucus + some food and I have to clean it out with a cotton swab. I try to pick her up and when I do she opens her beak like if she is gasping for air. I know something is going on, I just don't know what. What do you think it is? Here are some pictures. I recorded 2 videos, upload led on YouTube. Please watch them so that you can see what I mean.

Sorry to hear about your chick. How is she doing today? Is she separated from the others?

Is she showing any other signs of respiratory illness or trouble breathing? How about bubbles discharge from the eyes, nostrils or ears?

If you open her mouth, do you see any lesions? Check her throat and the roof of her mouth, also. While you’re in there looking, do you see her tongue? Is anything tied around it, like a stand of hair she could’ve swallowed? Is her tongue falling back into her throat at all? Get some pics inside her mouth if you are able to.

She is still hunched over runs a bit, follows me around. I tried to give her food and she couldn't swallow the food so I had to punch the foods in more deeper. She ended up swallowing it but struggled. I believe she has an infection. There are no bubbles discharge from eyes, nostrils, or ears. Except sometimes bubbles form in the inside of her mouth. I think she is congested with phlegm. I don't think there are lesions. There is nothing tied around her tongue. Something is preventing her from eating and drinking.

Also, how is her crop? It should be flat in the mornings and fill up throughout the day.
Her crop is completely empty. She tries to eat but then somehow mucus or saliva comes out with what she eats. I can tell its hard for her to eat, heck I haven't seen her drink.
