Hello and welcome to BYC!Glad you joined.
You may want to consider upping the size of your starter flock a teeny bit to 3. If something happens to a chicken when you only have 2, the remaining chicken will be very lonely and will not thrive.
I would like to see a Eureka Craftsman Bungalow. My favorite house type is the Craftsman.
I'm so sorry Sweetie didn't make it.As luck would have it, the second store had chicks (“last chance to get chicks”) and a buy 2, get one free policy. We left with: one buff Orpington, two Easter eggers, one silkie, one barred rock (mine), and a poor little girl who was being trampled. Our son really wanted to save her and another shopper encouraged him to hold the chick and give the chick its best possible chance. “Sweetie” didn’t last the night and is buried out back. All your advice was spot on.
