Exhaust fan installed

Today I received and installed this exhaust fan.
I was not feeling to good about locking them inside the coop at night, but I have to due to all the predators
I’m in hopes that at least it’ll give a little relief from the stagnated humid air that was in there, it sucks out at a pretty good rate
It can hurt anyway.
This is the one I got on amazon for $70.

You may consider installing a thermostat control. This way when ambient temps are low, fan turns off.
An extra $20 is a good investment. Your chickens can sleep quietly when not HOT.

Yeah I am going to do that. Right now I have it wired to a switch in the garage just to turn on and off.
I have multiple switched and unswitched receptacles in the coop for future and current like the pop door battery charger.

So can you feel cool(er) air being sucked into windows/vents on opposite side of coop?
.....or is fan getting all it's 'make up air' from that vents directly above it?

Thinks it's often better to blow cool(er) air into coop from north or east side,
fan will stay cleaner that way too.

Does it sound like a jet engine.....were the birds afraid of it?

The birds aren’t afraid of it, it’s actually a pretty quiet fan.
I do believe it is getting it’s supply air at least in part from all the ventilation across the whole of the roof including the end openings.
It definitely made a difference yesterday and I’ll be looking at it closer today.
Maybe I’ll install an intake fan on the other side if I don’t like the results, make sort of a push pull air flow.

Wow..... that's quite a dramatic decrease in temperature drop. Nice.

That sounds pretty effective, how long did it take to drop that far?
Is your coop in the sun most the day?

It took a couple hours but it dropped during the heat of the day so that was really good.
But there’s the other thing, it is in the sun in the morning but in the heat of the day it’s in full shade so how much is due to shade and how much due to exhaust fan, idk.

So coop gained 10° during it's time in the morning sun?
Is the metal roof insulated underneath?
It's hard to say, any additional circulation is good.

Yes, according to the thermometer inside the coop it was 102* noon but checking the thermometer with another one today they don't jive, both cheapos.
I guess if you count the plywood as insulation, then yes a little.
