Hello all! I'm not only new to Washington, new to this board and also (soon to be) new duck owner! FINALLY starting my dream of raising duckies as pets and egg producers. My babies are due Apr 19th!!! Expecting Welsh Harlequin and Cayuga ducklings. We live near Poulsbo, WA (Kitsap Co.) Would love to find anyone else out in this area...
Any advice on local predator proofing, where to get duckie feed, laying season for these later hatchers, etc...ANYTHING is really appreciated. I did check out "Storey's Guide to Raising Ducks" but had to return to library, guess I should actually buy it.
I'm so glad I found BYC, I think this will be added to my list of obsessions...ie. Duckies, Knitting...BYC.
