Congrats! And look at how much those quail have grown!

The come close to doubling in size every day for the first week then double in size every week. At 6 weeks they are about full grown and ready to lay.

I have a surprise pack coming on October 23 or 24. I've never had baby chicks. All of my girls now where bought anywhere between 4-12 weeks. I'm soooo excited!

Hope everyone's fuzzy butts are doing well! Mine are growing well, excepting one Sussex who just isn't thriving. Acting fine, eating, drinking, pooing fine - but is now the same size as the bantams. :/ Think one of my red chicks may be a cockerel - there's just too much comb and too much color for 16 day old pullet. Oh, well. Anconas are already flying pretty well around the brooder. :lau Most everyone is popping the chest stripes of feathers and a few have gotten that shaggy look to neck down that indicates pins pushing the down out. Ugly stage here we come! :D

Glad to hear they are doing well with one exception. Can you try taking it out of the brooder and in a small separate box a couple times a day just to offer it some extra food? Possibly even some scrambled egg for a bit of protein. Sorry about the cockerel, I'm sure ill have my share too. And yes, don't you just love that awkward stage they go through, lol.

I'm expecting my very first batch of chicks to ship on the 22nd! Three Silver Sebrights, an EE, and an Australorp. Can't wait to post pictures for y'all!
