Expensive Apples

Hi Lisa.Sorry I didnt reply sooner. We didnt get hit here.Thank goodness. Ive got the annas. They just never look very good(2year oldsand 3 yrs) My mom has planted so many avocado seeds its crazy but they have always died after a year.Plus all skinney and tall. She planted one last year from a" hass" variety seed I believe its called. I asked if I could take it and plant it in my yard when it was two foot tall. She is so jealous now although I told her it was I just got lucky that it has turned into a nice bushy tree as taller as I am. I dont know if it will bear but it darn sure is bushy and pretty as you would want. Hopefully next year it produces ! So I would give that one a try before you give up on avocados I did see a NICE apple tree in Dothan ALA. botanical gardens but like a nut I forgot to see what variety it was. Good luck growing.

Hi Shawn!

I am glad you are safe! I just might try the Hass avocado.

Lisa :)

I LOVE honeycrip apples! They have a thin skin with a lovely mottled red/green color, a lightly sweet with a good dose of tart flavor, and the flesh is juicy and crispy! I'm not surprised they're expensive, since that crazy bout of warm weather we had in March this year tricked a lot of trees into blooming, and then they got killed off by the weeks of nasty weather afterwards. Add onto that the drought, and it's a miserable year for apples.
