Exploding chicken

I've cooked frozen chicken and turkeys in my oven and it never exploded like that LOL!

I've had a stone pan break, when I tried t baste the chicken with cold chicken broth, that was a mess to clean, but not so as your mess, and we were able to eat the chicken, cuz the pan broke in big chunks.
You didn't use a cold pan did you, or try basting with cold liquid?
I say try, try again!
