This is my first time hatching anything. To be honest I kinda gave up. Today around 3 I got home from work noticed a egg with a puddle of blood under it . I just figured it was rotten and leaking. A few hours later went to take it out and a beak is sticking out peaping. From what I read it's the wrong end . What should I do?

I'm replying to this thread because I am curious what others with more experience would say.

I am not an expert, but have two thoughts:

1.) If the beak is just out, its lungs aren't ready yet, and the egg yolk likely hasn't been absorbed yet.

2.) What if that brown stuff is some kind of an infection

3.) Could it be shrink-wrapped since the incubator has been opened.

Hmmmm. . I would keep checking this thread, and leave the chick alone for a bit. If its beak is recently out, it needs time, regardless.

What kind of egg is this?

Did you have others that already hatched?
If so when did they hatch?
